Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others – a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make a Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

Last year, 450 people volunteered to help out with projects in the Keweenaw!

Timeline for Make A Difference Day on October 24th:
8:00AM Participants arrive at MUB Commons to pick up t-shirt & food
8:05AM Participants meet their other group members and gather supplies needed
by 8:15AM Groups leave MUB and travel to project locations

Plan to participate Rain, Snow or Shine :)
Dress for the weather & for projects (dress in layers, pants, sleeves, closed toed shoes, rain jackets, gloves, etc.)
Remember you are responsible for your own transportation to & from projects
Return all tools/materials to venue or campus
Share great photographs with Student Activities
Complete feedback survey

The GOAL is to have projects completed by noon, so students can attend and support the other events on October 24...
Spirit of the Harvest Powwow at Noon in the SDC
Football v. Saginaw Valley at 1:00pm on Sherman Field
Volleyball v. Saginaw Valley at 4:00pm in the SDC
Crystal Shawanda 7:30pm at the Rozsa Center

Make a Difference Day 2004 & 2005 @ Michigan Tech was awarded recognition on the national level by USA Weekend and The Daily Mining Gazette.
