Goals of PCSAP

Programming/Advocacy Goals:

Annual meeting with all constituencies (departments, and student groups) with goal of coordinating the scheduling, funding and advertising of programming on substance abuse and wellness issues.

Continue Student Orientation substance abuse prevention and alcohol free activities.

Provide programming during the National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and put the NCAAW on the University Calendar.

Provide substance-free events during University traditions (K-Day, Family Weekend, Homecoming, Winter Carnival, Spring Fling).

Maintain Student Activity Fee at level adequate to support creative late-night alcohol free programming.

Promote responsible drinking for those of age to drink with appropriate campaign to discourage underage and unsafe drinking.

Continue Alcohol Risk Management plans for student organizations which sponsor events where alcohol is served.

Continue annual distribution of Alcohol and Drug Policy to staff, faculty and students.

Environmental Goals:

Continue Chem Free living space in residence halls.

Provide quality substance abuse counseling and education for students.

Increase student participation in campus events to reduce student substance abuse (e.g., intramurals; athletic and cultural events; student organizations).

Policy/Procedure Goals:

Follow NCAA mandatory random drug testing rules for selected sports.

Continue formal biennial review of Drug and Alcohol policies with student input.

Continue formal review of Student Rights and Responsibilities at least every 3 years with student input.

Adhere to judicial and residence life alcohol and drug sanction protocol with appropriate revisions as needed.

Assessment Goals:

Perform annual review of PCSAP Goals.

Perform Core Survey every year.

Perform Biennial Review every two years.

Perform annual review of compliance with judicial and residence life alcohol/drug sanction protocol.
