McNair Hall
McNair is the residence hall with a great view of the Portage Canal and is home to about 600 people. McNair is separated into East McNair Hall and West McNair Hall. The halls are joined by glassed in tunnels and a cafeteria.
McNair Residence Life Staff
Each house has one Resident Assistant (RA), a student who provides leadership and guidance, enforces residence hall rules, and supervises house activities. The Resident Assistants report to the Community Coordinators.
Specialized Living Areas
Computer Science Learning Community (CSLC)
Residents of the CSLC both live and learn together. As part of the CSLC program, students choose to take a core group of classes within the computer science department.
Healthy Living House (HLH)
HLH promotes wellness and healthy choices for all residents of the houses. With the aid of two Resident Assistants, a Program Coordinator, and three Mentors, the HLH program blends programming, individual mentoring and a positive living environment to encourage academic and personal excellence. HLH is a chemical free area.
International House (I-House)
The International House promotes global appreciation through the blending of international and American students in the house. One of the major attractions of the International House is the ability to live with a student from a different cultural and expand your experiences. The Resident Assistant, Program Coordinator, and Mentor help residents participate in events like Parade of Nations and International House Coffee House.

Questions or Concerns
If problems regarding housing, classes, or personal issues arise, it is easy to find someone to talk to. The Community Coordinator (CC) and Resident Assistants (RA) are available for residence assistance. The Resident Assistants are good listeners and are here to give you guidance in personal, academic or residence hall related areas, or will give you an appropriate referral. Upper classmen will offer assistance and you will find them to be a good resource for advice.
Residence Hall Activities
In addition to house activities, there are many residence hall functions and activities which offer a relaxing break from studying. Watch the bulletin boards, talk to your RA or other students in the hall, or attend a McNair Hall Association (MHA) meeting. The more activities in which you are involved, the more rewarding your experience at Michigan Tech will be.
MHA is the center of all residence hall activities. The council holds regular meetings which are open to all residents. MHA organizes residence hall activities, sets most of the residence hall policies, and finds the best way to use the money from the residence hall social fund.
